报告题目一: A Systems Approach to Evolutionary Optimization of Complex Engineering Problems

Abstract:
Real-world complex engineering optimisation remains a challenging issue in evolutionary optimisation.This talk discusses the major challenges we face in applying evolutionary algorithms (EAs) to complex engineering optimization, including representation, the involvement of time-consuming and multi-disciplinary quality evaluation processes, changing environments, vagueness in formulating criteria formulation, and the involvement of multiple sub-systems. We propose that the successful tackling of all these aspects give birth to a systems approach to evolutionary design optimization characterized by considerations at four levels, namely, the system property level, temporal level, spatial level and process level. Finally, we suggest a few promising future research topics in evolutionary optimisation that consist in the
necessary steps towards a life-like design approach, where design principles found in biological systems such as self-organization, self-repair and scalability play a central role.

金耀初,英国萨里大学计算科学系教授,智能计算和工程团队负责人,IEEE 特许
工程师,BCS会士,担任IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems,the IEEE Transactions on Nanobioscience, the IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics, and the IEEE ComputationalInteligenceMagazine,Soft Computing
等多个国际著名杂志的副主编。他的研究兴趣包括:智能计算、生物学习和发展、受生物启发的的复杂系统逼近等领域,发表了150多篇高水平论文,论文被引用总数超过4500次。

报告题目二: Image Steganography, Watermarking and Forensic Techniques for secure communication and protection of image content

Abstract:
The tremendous growth of advanced telecommunication and Internet technologies in the past two decades has led to the proliferation of multimedia content for digital transmission and storage. The talk will give an overview of data hiding techniques and their applications to digital images. For example, image steganography for secure communication of secret messages via an open channel, and digital watermarking for protection and authentication of content integrity. Finally, the talk will also introduce image forensic techniques for camera identification from captured images and forgery detection of images, which are currently attracting a great deal of attention from the research community.

Anthony T.S. Ho (何东旋),英国萨里大学计算科学系教授,系主任,英国帝国理工大学硕士、伦敦国王大学博士,FIET、FInstP 和FBCS会士,International journal Information Security杂志主编。主要研究领域:信息安全,发表130多篇高水平的学术论文。
